Paints using thick buttery paint feeling her way through “everyday landscapes and people that she knows”

The images contain a lot of inherent movement and expressionism giving everyday images a slight austere feel. Her colours are relatively muted in the blues and purpley range with splashes of orange or red. Certainly on the above website she plays with he composition of perspective towards a fixed point be it a door or farmer or white waves leading to the sails of a boat.

I find her images too heavy in texture and colour, taking away an emotional lightness but agree with her that the paintings do reflect a drama “a piece of theatre”.

These grey images appealed much more to my husband than myself (who loves lighter colours and lightheartedness). He records derelict petrol stations in grey and white abstraction, scratchy and lined. I like the incorporation of road signs, and patches of contrasting colour.

ON the top floor was an exhibition for the tabernacle art competition: “Myself”
